New Courtyard by Marriott - Mississauga West Review

Aloha Bombshells,

Last month my lovely man treated us to a stay in the brand new Courtyard by Marriott hotel located at 290, Derry Road W, Mississauga, ON L5W 1N6, Canada, it's so new they haven't completed proper access from the road to it yet, however I was just amazed I've never stayed anywhere like this before now and I have to say it was a wonderful stay, not the cheapest of places but for the comfort, it was well worth it, I couldn't get over the size of the room we were in, it was like a small apartment.

We had a Kingsize bed which was the most comfortable we've ever stayed in and we're both big on comfort, we also had a small seating area, refrigerator (which took forever to find as it was hidden in a cupboard), a wardrobe, ensuite washroom and there was supposed to be a safe in the room but we never found it, there was also tea & coffee supplied, water was available in the room at $2.50 + tax a bottle, TV that you could watch Youtube and Netflix through that was on a bracket so it is able to swing out so you can watch it in bed or on the sofa. There was plenty of USB charging points in the room I counted 4 in total I think and both bedside cabinets had them built in along with mains adapters too.

What I really liked and thought was cool, instead of the old fashion "Do Not Disturb" signs there was a little light above your door number outside, that you could control from within your room by two little buttons, red for privacy and green for makeup room, the little light was also a doorbell.

The keys were really easy not like most hotels you have to slide it in, it goes green then you open it, these you just tap against the black lock and it lets you in, you also need your key to access the Gym and swimming pool areas and certain other doors, so if you go sit in the outside seating area, don't forget your key because you need it to get back into the hotel.

The only annoyance if sat outside is that the hotel is based on the main flight path to Toronto Pearson Airport and the planes come over very low late at night which we discovered when enjoying the evening's ambience.

You can see from the photos the washroom was a really good size, the shower was huge and had hot water running very quickly and the water pressure was great, the only thing I found odd is they didn't have an extractor fan, and sometimes the A/C unit leaked above the toilet, so occasionally we would get dripped on, other than that no problems.

The Hotel has many facilities:
  • 24 Hour Gym
  • A Swimming pool, not 24 hours it closes 11 pm at night, so we never got a chance to get in there.
  • Boarding Pass printing for certain airlines
  • Outside seating area
  • Conference Rooms
  • Free Wi-FI
  • Bar with an A La Carte menu that isn't included in the price it's extra, about $10-15 per person
  • Function Rooms
  • Complimentary Parking

I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is travelling to Mississauga in the near future, from what I could make out it doesn't offer a shuttle service to the airport but transport in Canada is super affordable much more than here in the UK.
